About

There is a flourishing Sculpture Culture winding along the picturesque Main Street of Yinnar, the 900 strong Gippsland community, two hours from Melbourne. Home to a series of permanent sculptures, the fifth biennial Gippsland Sculpture Exhibition (GSE) takes over the town. This popular juried exhibition, held over seven weeks, attracts Australia's most recognised interior and exterior sculptors. Working with a host of mediums, transforming steel, stone, wood, ceramic, and bronze into one-of-a-kind masterpieces. Inspired by the calibre of sculpture exhibitions worldwide, Nicole Allen, one of the Founders of GSE, visualised the streets of Yinnar embracing a Sculpture Culture - the idea took form and the rest is history. Attracting thousands of visitors, there will be over 100 interior and exterior sculptures, demonstrations and workshops for the generations, artists walks and talks, street food, talented local musicians, and even an incredible chainsaw carving demonstration – an inclusive vibe for everyone. Attracting hundreds of applicants, the prize money has grown to reflect the extraordinary quality of work created by emerging and established artists.
