Celebrating stories of wine science through original music
The Australian Wine Research Institute (AWRI) and Max Savage proudly present this unique evening of entertainment. The project brings seven decades of wine research to life through music, comedy and live performance.
You don’t need to know about wine or science to enjoy the evening. The scientific papers in the AWRI library have been translated into catchy songs that anyone can enjoy. Join Max and the band as they weave stories of wine and science through a kaleidoscopic field blend of different musical genres, from spoilage-yeast-inspired mambos, volatile sesquiterpene rockabilly, and an indie-grunge homage to futuristic tractor automation and under-vine weed control.
Prolific, unpredictable and utterly mesmerising, Max Savage’s blend of absurdist folklore and rock and roll swagger is indelibly etched into the cultural life of the city of Adelaide, with a body of work that stretches across jazz, rock & roll, country & soul.
The AWRI scientists have been diligently working away for decades, all to make sure that your wine tastes as good as it possibly can. Let’s all raise a glass to that!
A supper menu will be available on the night and a selection of Lambert Estate Grown Wines.
Doors open at 5pm with the show expected to start approximately 7pm and will run for approximately 3 hours.
