About
The Fantasy Medieval Fair in Mount Gambier invites visitors to a two-day celebration of medieval and mythical wonders set against the town’s stunning volcanic backdrop. Guests can step back in time to explore a bustling marketplace featuring handcrafted swords, armor, cloaks, jewelry, and trinkets with Artisans showcasing traditional crafts like blacksmithing and leatherworking.
Throughout the fairgrounds, the melodies of harpists and minstrels create a magical ambiance, complemented by family-friendly folklore puppet shows. Interactive experiences include longbow archery and “Come and Try Dungeons & Dragons” sessions, where game masters guide players through mini-adventures blending medieval and modern fantasy.
The main arena hosts exhilarating jousting matches and armored combat tournaments, as knights and warriors clash in displays of strength and bravery. For relaxation, visitors can enjoy refreshing ales and meads at the medieval tavern, mingling in a charming village-like setting.
Saturday evening offers an adults-only Medieval Feast, a ticketed event featuring a banquet of roast meats, vegetables, rustic bread, and ale. Guests dine in traditional style, entertained by a lively burlesque performance filled with dance, comedy, and medieval flair.
A costume competition celebrates creativity as attendees showcase their fantastical personas, vying for prizes judged by a panel of fantasy experts. Blending thrilling performances, hands-on activities, enchanting music, and festive revelry, Mount Gambier’s Fantasy Medieval Fair is a magical escape for all ages, steeped in adventure and chivalry.
