About the Event
About
Copper Coast Show is a country show and is held annually on the third weekend in August at their showgrounds located centrally in the township of Kadina, South Australia. The event displays the various aspects of the local Copper Coast community encompassing the townships of Kadina, Moonta and Wallaroo. The area is commonly known as the Copper Triangle and is steeped in history, with the area also known as Little Cornwall. This is due to the influx of Cornish people who arrived in the mid-1800s to help mine and process the copper ore discovered in the area.
At the Copper Coast show, horse eventing such as Carriage Driving, Show Jumping and Hack eventing are happening, Sheep, Poultry and Pigeons are judged and displayed. It also conducts and encourages exhibiting in Cooking, Handicraft, Art, Fruit and Vegetables, Flowers and Pot Plants, and Woodworking. It also has the traditional things seen at a country show, i.e. Sideshows, Show bags, Markets, Demonstrations, Entertainment, Food and local Yorke Peninsula Produce, Wine and Beer.
