THE TEST:
HIV/AIDS antibody testing can be arranged by local or family doctors or through specialist clinics. The test may incur a cost unless it is done through one of the nominated free test sites.

- The MELBOURNE SEXUAL HEALTH CENTRE can provide information on free testing sites in normal business hours.
- The VICTORIAN AIDS COUNCIL is a key Statewide agency which offers a wide range of assistance to people who are HIV+, or have AIDS. Services include counselling, anonymous HIV testing, clinic with doctors (also hypnotherapy and acupuncture), home care, support groups, accommodation service, financial relief, education programs and legal assistance.
- The VICTORIAN INFECTIOUS DISEASES SERVICE at the Royal Melbourne Hospital has specialist HIV/AIDS services and offers inpatient and outpatient treatment.
