Storyland - A morning of collage
Provided by: Mid North Coast Community College - Port Macquarie

About
Join us for a morning of collage - cut and paste - to create unique artworks. Derived from the French to mean “to glue” or “to stick together” participants will be inspired by art movements and styles from folk art, decoupage, Surrealism, DADA and Photomontage to create their own unique works.
Weekly drop-in style sessions in the Gallery Make-it Space, tutored by designer and printmaker Ali Haigh, to help you get started.
Everything you need to create is supplied, scissors, glue, and inspirational material to build your artwork.
About the Facilitator:
Ali Haigh is a contemporary Australian printmaker and designer who draws inspiration from the patterns and shapes found in nature and her surroundings. Her creative style has been described as "playful-joyful," and she refers to each design as a "moment." She finds these moments by observing the patterns in sand or the water-worn stones on the beach near her coastal home in NSW.
The unique shape and patterns of natural specimens like the boxfish and banksia are of endless fascination for Ali, who firstly draws them from life and then re-imagines them through inversion, stylisation, simplification and repetition.
Ali prints her designs on everyday objects such as the humble teatowel to bring a touch of magic to the mundane.
Participation is FREE thanks to funding from the NSW Government.
Register for a session or just drop in on the day and sign into the workshop!
