About

They are pleased to announce that from 2019 the town of Dungog in the Hunter Valley will be the new home of the Tea Cosy Challenge. The event is being re-badged as the Dungog Tea Party, but will incorporate the Tea Cosy Challenge, as well as a number of other events such as a Trivet Competition and tea tastings. The Tea Cosy Challenge will be located in the historic James Theatre, the oldest still running purpose-built cinema in Australia. Like Morpeth, Dungog has great drawcards such as their cultural and natural heritage and a blooming arts and crafts sector. The event is being organised by a local committee under the auspices of Dungog Shire Events Inc. There are regular Cityrail services from Maitland and Newcastle to Dungog, and there are daily Countrylink services to Dungog from Sydney and the North Coast. Dungog is also less than three hours from Sydney, under two hours from the Central Coast and approximately one hour from Newcastle and Newcastle Airport, with direct flights to Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Canberra.
